Other ways to support Sylphis3D...
First off: awesome to see Sylphis3D finally released under the GPL!
So I tried the precompiled demo and am quite impressed by its features, but right now I am wondering if you have any plans to create a reference (multiplayer) FPS game with Sylphis3D to really show off it's features (which seem to be at a point where such a move would be possible... given a network system is implemented).
I would be willing to contribute artwork (and maybe some easy python code) for it if my time permits it.
A precompiled Linux runtime enviroment would be great too btw :)
Other than that...any news on the current development progress? The last news seems to be quite old already and I sure hope that the development of this great engine hasn't stopped.

Hi Julius,
Welcome! As a matter of fact, in addition to more documentation, a new visual identity, and all the other quiet things I have on my idea list, a professional and complete demo level is one that has a high priority. It'll be a ways off --perhaps for next release, or next after- but it is definitely something I want to work with Harkal on.
As far as the death... Nope! Sylphis certainly isn't dead. Not being a programmer, I can't much speak to the specific developments going on in the code, but Harkal definitely had some stuff of his own planned. :)
I'll keep you updated on the demo level. Help would definitely be appreciated!

Thanks for the quick answer!
I am currently working on a playermodel and maybe also some weapon models... don't expect anything imidiatly... but I would really like to contribute them to a (demo) game.

Excellent! Thanks for the offered help. Likewise here, it'll be a tad while before any sort of demo level project will start to take shape, but you can be sure that when it does reach any sort of amorphous spill, I'll let you know.
What software do you use to create your models? I doubt this'll end up being practical, but it'd be really kinda fun to use only OSS software for the entire thing. In any case, Blender *does* work quite well with Sylphis...
Thanks again!

Mainly Wings3D (also OSS) but for animations & final export etc I will use Blender :)
I am also planning to have a closer look at the new sculpting tools in Blender.
