New release

HI! I just released the the SVN tree (rev 11) at the download page. The release also contains a compiled version for those that are not interested in messing around with compilers and stuff.

Here's a list of changes:

Bug Fix: 0000003: [python subsystem] Failed to import entry code (harkal)
Bug Fix: 0000001: [build] The debug version looks for globar swig installation (harkal)
Bug Fix: 0000004: [build] SDE - Python Exception (harkal)

Enjoy...

"Python exception"

I've downloaded the engine from the sourceforge and ran the executable. It went downhill from there. The image of the cursor, for instance, doesn't disappear from where he was before I moved it. Worse than that, every single action I've tried to perform - like adding an actor or trying to change the directory in the map download dialog (btw, Sylphis 3d didn't see any map in the directory, as though it was empty, which it wasn't) caused the "Python exception" message to pop up and the IDE to shut down. I don't known whether the fault is mine or the program's.

Try the SVN version. That is

Try the SVN version. That is the most updated one.

I am not sure it that will fix the problems though.

Please provide your current hardware and software configuration.

Operating system, graphics card, etc, etc.

The release has many GUI

The release has many GUI features removed, and it realy does not work.

You should always start sylphis with a map. For example by

sylphis -map maps/maptest.cmap

The add actors window then still needs care.. for example not all actors are appropriate to be inserted with that GUI...

Ok, the map loads, but...

... the engine has trouble loading textures, even though they are in path.

As to the hardware\software details, I should have provided them in the first place: I'm running Sylphis on Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2), Intel Celeron 2.40 Ghz, 786Mb Ram, Geforce 6600.

BTW, is it possible (or will be) to script 3d-person action-adventure in Sylphis? Not that I'm starting the project anytime soon (I've got one unfinished project in queue, a job that doesn't have anything to do with game design, and I'm still struggling with 3d content creation) but I'd be happy to know in advance.

I'd also be glad to know the SVN parameters for Sylphis3d.

Thanks in advance.
