Other ways to support Sylphis3D...
When I first downloaded and installed .95, my installation of XP was about 4 months old. Except for the disappearing terrain issue (which, at least in my particular instance, I was able to fix) Sylphis ran great.
Unfortunately, that 4-month old installation of XP was quite... furgled... so I did a fresh install. (Furgled, meaning Start Menu items would just disappear, drives would go away --nasty stuff.)
Anyway, after the fresh install was finished, and with little more than the basic video/audio/etc drivers installed, I installed and tried to run .095. Before the main engine window even has a chance to load, I get an "The application failed to initialize properly (00xc0150002). Click OK to terminate the application." error.
I've tried various things, like installing Python, copying the .95 in on top of the .92 SDK. Still nothing.
As my new system fills in, I'll keep track of what software I install, and check when/if Sylphis begins working. Suppose the next step after that would be to compile from the source. (Any idea if it works in VC 2005 Express?)

I don't seem to be able to post new topics to the forum. I'd like to start a thread about linux support.
(Sorry for posting this in an unrelated thread.)
